Our Story

City View Community Church launched in August of 2021, but that was not where the story begins. Our church is the culmination of two great churches coming together on the other side of our world changing in 2020.

From the start, our church has had a deep heart for people to discover their purpose and to live on mission. Our hope is that the moment you connect with us, whether online or in person, you recognize that your story really matters.

Meet Our Team

Danny & Lauren Henderson

In 2017, Danny and Lauren visited San Diego for the first time. As they stood on the top of Mt Soledad, where you can see every area of San Diego, their hearts were drawn so deeply to this city that is 94% unchurched. They saw the deep need to live on mission and reach the lost.

Within 2 months, they took a leap of faith and moved their family from the East Coast to this beautiful city that has become their forever home. They have a heart for missions and through City View have built two wells in Africa, supported Disaster Relief funds, various Missionaries and have served the community of Santee and other various global missions as well.

Danny and Lauren have been married since 2008, and have two daughters, Brooklyn and Audrey. They are foodies, so go grab dinner with them, they will show you all the good spots. They can't wait to meet you!

Statement of Faith

If you are visiting for the first time, you may wonder what we believe. This Statement of Faith is not exhaustive, but it answers the questions that we believe are foundational. The most important thing to understand is that our calling as followers of Christ is to love God and love others. Jesus told His disciples that the world would know they belong to Him by the way they love each other. These beliefs are foundational to who we are as believers, but our goal is to live them out through love and relationship.
